Matapos na kumalat sa social media ang CCTV footage ni Congressman Aniceto "John" Bertiz III, na siyang nakita sa video kung saan hinablot niya ang ID ng isang airport personnel's, ay naglabas ng statement nang paghingi ng tawad sa kanyang inasal sa airport.
"I offer no excuse. I am sincerely sorry for my actions," sabi ni Bertiz.
Ang nasabing video na napost sa Facebook ay kumalat at naishare over 12,000 times.
Ayon naman kay Jun Aguilar, Bertiz's chief of staff, the lawmaker confronted the security officer after noticing that he let some "Chinese-looking passengers," who were escorted by airport staff, breeze through the checkpoint.
"The congressman questioned the security checker why those who went before him just casually walked through and were not properly searched," paliwanag ni Aguilar.
Sinabi rin ni Bertiz na hindi kumpleto ang kumakalat na video dahil hindi nakita dito ang umanoy pag bypass din sa protocol ng ibang foreigners na nauna sa kanila.
Uumpisahan naman kompletuhin ng MIAA at ng Department of Transportation kasama ang Office for Transportation Security ang nasabing actual footage at paiimbistigahan ayon sa kanilang statement
"Authorities are now studying if any law or protocol has been violated, and assures all individuals concerned that any decision shall strictly be in accordance to existing rules, regulations, and procedures being implemented in our airports," dagdag na paliwanag.
